Wilbur Franklin Watson, age 86, of Watson Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his home. He was born March 13, 1927, at Roscoe, Kentucky, in Elliott County, a son of the late George and Plura Lewis Watson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lena B. Scott, and one niece, Linda Scott Campbell. Wilbur is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eva Jean Cooper Watson, whom he married September 24, 1947; one son, George W. Watson and wife Vicki of Hillsboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Judy Conley and husband Evan of Muses Mill, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Melissa Ford, Eric Watson, Kristen Manning, and Megan Watson; and four great grandchildren, Ryan Ford, Makayla Ford, Ava Watson, and Zander Watson. Other survivors include one brother, D. A. Watson of Wallingford, Kentucky; one sister, Shelby Jean Fannin of Hillsboro, Kentucky; other relatives and many friends. Wilbur was a World War II Army veteran, farmer, and owner of Watson's Farm. He attended Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr. and Bro. Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsoro Cemetery with full military honors by W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Pallbearers will be Shawn Royse, Dave Watson, Eric Watson, Brad Watson, Blake Manning, George W. Watson, and Mike Royse. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.
