Wanda Cox King, age 71, of Charmark Court, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born May 16, 1940, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Everett and Monnie Reynolds Cox. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Talmadge Cox. Her husband, Vernon E. King, passed away August 12, 2006. Wanda is survived by one daughter, Melissa Elliott of Morehead, Kentucky; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Wanda King of Morehead, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Dalton King, Raegan King and Lauren Elliott. She is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Harold Cline of Niles, Ohio, and Judy and Robert Easton of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Wanda was a former Morehead State University employee and a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and precious grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating; burial will follow at Cox Cemetery in Elliottville, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Elvis Middleton, Shane Middleton, Doug Easton, Robert Easton, John Anderson, Harold Cline and Rodney Perkins. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
