Vivian Mae Hitch Adkins, age 77, of Valley Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019, at U.K. HealthCare in Lexington
Born March 16, 1942, in Elliott County, she was the daughter of the late Chester Hitch and Goldie Trent Hitch. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Claude Adkins, on July 10, 2007; one brother, Glennis "Bill" Hitch; and one sister, Joyce Pennington.
Vivian is survived by two daughters, Brenda Parker of Clearfield and Linda Skaggs of Morehead; one son, Claude Gregory Adkins and wife Kimberly of Morehead; one grandson, Joshua Parker; three granddaughters, Sarah Mae Parker Gray, Brianna Sullivan, and Georgia Means; and four great grandsons, Alex and Hayden Gray and Levi and Weston Sullivan
Other survivors include three sisters, Evalena and Don Wendell Horton of Sandy Hook, Shirley Jones of Dayton, Ohio, and Karen "Gay" Dalton of Morehead,; six brothers, James and Judy Hitch, Chester, Jr. and Ava Hitch, Michael Hitch, Charles "Tony" and Diana Hitch, David and Fhonda Hitch, Darrell and Rhonda Hitch, all of Sandy Hook, as well as nieces and nephews; extended family, and friends.
Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was precious to her. She was a homemaker and former employee of Cowden Mfg. She also loved being involved in her church, The House of Prayer, where she had been a member for a number of years. Vivian will long be remembered for her thoughtfulness, her kindness to others, and her sweet disposition. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Senior Pastor Winston McClurg and Pastor Joe Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Parker, Jeff Parker, Wally Hitch, Darrell Hitch, Tony Hitch, and David Hitch.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
