Virgil Gail (Bubby) Stamper, Jr., age 47, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born January 26, 1965, in Carter County, Kentucky, Bubby is the son of Virgil Gail Stamper, Sr., and Sarah Marie Atherton Stamper of Olive Hill, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, Bubby is survived by one son, Virgil Gail Stamper III of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three daughters, Anna Marie Stamper, Sarah Nicole Stamper, and Amanda Cooper, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four grandsons; and two sisters, Debra Callihan of Morehead, Kentucky, and Frances Glover of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Alvin Stamper; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Ola Irene Fultz Stamper and maternal grandparents, Stanley and Marie Horn Atherton. Bubby was a carpenter for Zornes Construction. He enjoyed 4-wheeling and fishing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ray Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery on Bethel Ridge. Pallbearers will be Henry Zornes, Terry McClurg, Dale Marshall, Keith McGranahan, Charles Callihan, Shawn Glover, and Clifford Stamper.
