Violet Jean Purvis Byerly, age 64, of Johnson School Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was born September 30, 1950, in Fleming County, and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Pearl Link Purvis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Purvis. Violet was also preceded in death by her first husband, William 'Bill' Hatton, and her son, Michael Wayne Hatton. Violet is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jimmy Byerly, whom she married June 12, 1987; two special nieces, Stephanie Roark Davis (Brandon) and Teresa Roark-Purvis (Michael Shrewsbury); two special great nephews, Jayden and Landyn Applegate; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Gross and the Rev. Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Hedricks Cemetery in Salt Lick. Pallbearers: Bill Adams, Bob Flora, Ricky Lewis, Hose Perez, Christian Perez, and Hugh Byron. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Visitation: Thursday, September 17, 2015, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Friday, September 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. Interment: Hedricks Cemetery in Salt Lick, KY
