Violet Marie Conn Corey, age 84, of Slate Avenue, Owingsville, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born December 9, 1938, in Salt Lick, Violet was the daughter of the late Jack Conn and Etta Grey Reed Conn.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Corey; one son, Ricky Corey; two sisters, Mildred Charles and Deloria Regina Conn; and two brothers, Larry Conn and Ricky Conn.

She is survived by one son, Tracy Corey of Morehead, and his significant other, Laura Shower of Maysville; three grandchildren, Ceria Thacker and husband Chase, Salica Corey and Shawn Corey, both of Owingsville; four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Other survivors include four sisters, Reda Conn of Owingsville, Frankie Skaggs of Mt. Sterling, Michelle Bargo of Berea, and Phyllis Watts of New Hampshire, as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Violet was a cook at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Owingsville for 24 years and when health permitted attended Living Water Church in Mt. Sterling.  She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was her focus.  She will be sadly missed and always remembered with love.

In granting Violet's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
