Obituary

Vina "Jean" Haney Chappel, age 86, of Chappel Lane, Camargo, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Edgewood Estates in Frenchburg. She was born May 10, 1931, at Cannel City, in Morgan County, the daughter of the late William Goble Haney and Rachel Nickell Haney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Bowling and Fillomae Cockrell, and two brothers, Goble Haney, Jr. and Eugene Presley Haney. Jean's husband of 56 years, Spencer Carl "Buddy" Chappel, passed away in 2005 and a grandson, Donovan Lee Chappel in 1997. She is survived by three sons, Billy (Judy) Chappel of Mt. Sterling, Bobby (Vicki) Chappel and Ricky (Kim) Chappel of Camargo; one sister, Lurlene Haney Amburgey of Jeffersonville; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Chappel was a homemaker, LPN, former member of the Eastern Star, and a longtime member of the Camargo First Church of God. A private memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eric Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery. Arrangements by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
