Vernon Lee Cassity, age 50, of Highland Avenue, Elmwood Place, Ohio, passed away May 6, 2010, at his residence. Born January 15, 1960, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he is the son of Betty Coldiron Price of Ashland, Kentucky, and the late James Bart 'Shorty' Cassity. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Chris Maynard Cassity of Roanoke, Virginia; three brothers, Jim (Louise) Cassity of Frisco, Texas, Walt (Rebecca) Cassity of Morehead, Kentucky, and Larry Cassity of Morehead, Kentucky; two nieces, Michelle Cassity and Lisa Arnold; two nephews, Jason Cassity and Eric Cassity; and a favorite aunt, Shirley Coldiron.Vernon was a carpenter and former employee of Logan Industries, Cincinnati, Ohio. He enjoyed playing his guitar and watching ballgames.A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev.
