Verna Mae Kidd Trent, age 87, of Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayson.

Born December 16, 1937, in Rowan County, Verna was the daughter of the late Clella and Gladys Kidd.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheryl Ann Trent; a sister, Jean Gilkison; and a nephew, Jack Barber.

Verna is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Cathy Conn and husband Gerald of Morehead; a brother, Charles Kidd and wife Vonnie of Richmond, Indiana; and a grandson, Christopher Conn of Richmond, Kentucky.

Other family to cherish her memory include three nieces, Saundra Nathanson, Roberta Gilkison, and Denise Johnson; and one nephew, Mitchell Kidd.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring and efficient staff of Carter Nursing and Rehab and Community Hospice of Ashland who became Verna's family.

While Verna faced many challenges and health issues throughout her life, her faith never wavered.  She looked forward with peace and certainty to going home to her Lord and Savior and to being reunited with her newborn baby.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Sister Robyn Cline and Rev. Saundra Nathanson officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers:  Gerald Conn, Patrick Conn, Tony Glover, Charlie Henderson, Charlie Winkleman and Junior Wilson.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
