Venita Anne Ferguson Whitehurst, age 57, of Lost Hill Road, Clearfield, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her home in Florida.

She was born May 4, 1968, in Morehead, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Faye Ferguson of Clearfield.

She was preceded in death by one son, Derek Whitehurst in 2008.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Glenn Whitehurst; three children, Stephanie Whitehurst of Riverview, Florida, Charli Whitehurst of Morehead, and Michael Whitehurst Jr. of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Avery, Ethan, and Wyatt, who were the light of her life; two brothers, Shannon Flannery of Morehead and Jody Ferguson of Clearfield; a sister, Derita Carter of Morehead; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Venita was a 1986 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and a devoted homemaker. Years ago, she owned and operated Good Time Charli's Restaurant in Morehead. She and her husband also owned and managed several mobile home parks in Florida and one in Kentucky. In addition, she formerly owned V.W. Cleaning Service, a Florida-based company specializing in cleaning new construction homes.

Family was truly the center of Venita's world. She found her greatest joy in caring for her loved ones, sharing laughter, and bringing everyone together for family gatherings. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the comforting presence of her two special Yorkies, Tula and Kelsea. She was a constant source of encouragement, compassion, and strength to those around her.

Venita will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mom, and "Nene" whose boundless love and caring heart touched everyone she knew. Her memory will be forever cherished and greatly missed by all who were blessed to be part of her life.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
