Velma Clay Risner Ross, age 91, of Harper Ridge Road, Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born July 3, 1924, in Middletown, Ohio, a daughter of David and Ollie Brown Risner. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Lee Ross; two brothers, Albert Risner and Stanley Risner; three sisters, Verlin Treadway, Pearl Prather, and Virginia Scott; two daughters, Patty Jean Bromagen and Diane Carol Ross; two sons, Freddie Douglas Beer and Billy Carson Beer; and one granddaughter, Cindy Sparks Gose. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Davis of Sedro Woolley, Washington; Treva (Glen) Roberson of Muncie, Indiana, and Barbara Beer of Morehead; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and extended family members and friends. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker and member of Queen Street First Church of God in Mt. Sterling. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lowell Rice and Bro. Billy Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling. Pallbearers: Stephen Roberson, Brad Short, Bill Hurst, Michael Shakro, Glen Roberson, Glen Roberson, Jr., Paul Jones, and Jeff Crump. Visitation is 5 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, May 23, 2016, 5 to 9 p.m, Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 1 p.m., Northcutt &Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling
