Velma Elizabeth Day Landers, age 90, of Mowrystown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at her residence. Born July 5, 1921, in Soldier, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Harlis Day and Ira Gilliam Day. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Landers, on January 31, 1993, and one son, Larry Joe Sturgill, on February 5, 2009. Mrs. Landers is survived by two sons, Robert G. Landers of Mowrystown, Ohio, and Ronald Sturgill of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, John Gartal Day of Maysville, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren. She was a blueprint clerk for North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio, for 19 years. Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Private interment will be in Lee Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
