Velma Roe Conn, age 78, of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born May 8, 1934, in Jacobs, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Beulah Porter Roe. Her husband, Eugene (Gene) Conn, preceded her in death on November 26, 2007. Mrs. Conn is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Hickey and husband Doug of Liberty, Tennessee; one grandson, Jeffry Allen Irvin and wife Misty of Morehead, Kentucky; and one great granddaughter, Shelby Dawn Irvin. Other survivors include three sisters, Bertha Perry of Mansfield, Ohio, Mary Riley of Morehead, Kentucky, and Polly Reynolds of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two brothers, Charles Roe of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Tex Roe of Grayson, Kentucky; nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Mrs. Conn was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Day and Rev. Butch Kelsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park, Olive Hill, Kentucky. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
