Obituary

Troy Kidd, age 66, of Weaver Ridge Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born July 14, 1947, in West Liberty, a son of Lillian Black Kidd of Morehead and Berry Kidd, who passed away January 30, 2002. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Lewis, and two brothers-in-law, Curtis Gibson and Ray Lewis. In addition to his mother, Troy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Ross Kidd, whom he married on August 19, 1966; three sons, Ashley Kidd and Melissa of Morehead, Terry Kidd and Missy of Clearfield, and Shawn Kidd of Morehead; and twin daughters, Mindy Duvall of Olive Hill and Missy Barker and Jimmy of Grahn; grandchildren, Matthew Kidd and Ashley Thomas, Baylor Kidd, Mark Kidd, James Henry, John Henry, Katelyn Russell, Hallie Russell, Caleb Barker, and Ethan Barker; and great granddaughter, Aubrey LaShae Kidd. Other survivors include one brother, Berry Kidd, Jr. and Nora of Morehead; three sisters, Avanell Gibson of Morehead, Ivory Wright and Charles of Bryant, Arkansas and Eula Gray and James of Morehead; a host of nieces and nephews including special niece, Patty Lewis; and special brother-in-law, James Gray. Troy was a minister of the Enterprise Baptist Association and a member of the Lick Branch Enterprise Baptist Church in West Liberty, where he was assistant pastor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a former iron worker, farmer, and logger. He loved hunting-especially deer hunting-fishing, and his family. But, most of all, Troy loved the Lord. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Joe Jenkins and Brother Roger Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Kidd Family Cemetery at Blairs Mill with military honors conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Matthew Kidd, James Henry, John Henry, Perry Ray Lewis, Herbie Lewis, Anthony Jarrett, and Glen Lewis. Honorary pallbearers: Mark Kidd, Caleb Barker, Ethan Barker, and brothers of the Lick Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Tuesday, February 4, 2014, after 4 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. Interment: Kidd Family Cemetery, Blairs Mill
