Tressa Lynn Baggett Stamper, age 60, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born December 6, 1954, in Morehead, she is the daughter of Maxine Jones Baggett of Morehead and the late Archie Baggett of Waynesboro, Mississippi. In addition to her mother, Tressa is survived by her husband of 37 years, Danny Ray Stamper, whom she wed on May 13, 1978. She is also survived by her daughter, Tracey Jonette Weaver and husband Billy of Metter, Georgia; two sons, Terry Wayne Charles of Hanover, Indiana, and Bo Charles and wife Rebecca of Mt. Sterling; a step daughter, Tami Lou Weis and husband Tony of Napoleon, Ohio; a step son, Jamie Ray Stamper and wife Amy of Morehead; and her sister, Linda Karen 'Penny' Garner of Richmond. Tressa loved her 13 grandchildren-Alexa Brooke Stephens, Lakyn Elizabeth Weaver, Blake Alexander Weaver, Krista Michelle Charles, Cameron Jacob Charles, Bryce Charles, Justin Charles, Tiffany Michelle Reckner and husband Jake, Trey Ridenour, Emily Ridenour, Abigail Stamper, Asa Stamper, and Bo Bryce Stamper-and her two great grandchildren, Kayden and Ally Reckner. Tressa was a graduate of the Police Academy of Criminal Justice Training at Eastern Kentucky University and was the first female police officer for the City of Morehead. She was an officer for the city from April 1985 to October 1991. After leaving the police department, she worked with juveniles as a Court Designated Worker from October 1991 to November 1997. She was the first female deputy for the Rowan County Sheriff's Department as well. She worked as a deputy from January 1998 to November 1998. Tressa had a real passion for law enforcement during her many years serving in various areas. She also worked in Loss Prevention and Management for Family Dollar Distribution and Dollar General Stores. She loved working with people. Tressa enjoyed spending time at home with her husband Danny and her beloved fur babies; hanging out on the weekends with her Mom and sister Penny; and spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. She loved her friends and family passionately. Tressa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Toby Gardner, Matt Sparks, Jim Stamper, Joe Cline, John Hamm, and James Damron Honorary Pallbearers: Trey Ridenour, Blake Weaver, Asa Stamper, Bo Bryce Stamper, Cameron Charles, Bryce Charles, Kayden Weis, and Justin Charles Visitation is 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
