Timothy Ray Rivers, 45, of Cottage Walk, Cartersville, Georgia, died peacefully March 10, 2011 at his sister-s residence following a 3 - year battle with esophageal cancer. Tim was born November 18, 1965, the son of Millard R. Rivers and Dorothy Pence Rivers and was a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church. He graduated from Highlands High School in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, in 1983, and West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, West Virginia, as a Civil Engineer PE Certified in 21 states, employed at Paulson-Mitchell Engineering in Roswell, Georgia. He was a huge NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan, had his pilot-s license at age 16 and loved traveling in his motor home and riding his Harley. Surviving are his children, Cymber Pettyjohn and Timothy T. Rivers of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchild, Zoey Pettyjohn; mother, Dorothy Rivers of Cartersville, Georgia; father, Millard R. Rivers of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; sister and brother-in-law, Sue Haas and Dave Carnes of Cartersville, Georgia; sister, Marissa Rivers and brother, Justin Rivers, both of Kittanning, Pennsylvania. Special thanks from the family to Transitions Hospice for the exceptional care he was given. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
