Timothy Gerald "Tim" Maze

Timothy Gerald “Tim” Maze, age 65, of Stringtown Road, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born October 3, 1960, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Vernie Maze and Martha Lou Razor Maze. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Bashford Maze, in 2005; a brother, Rick Maze; and a niece, Carrie Hamm.

Tim is survived by his companion of 20 years, Annette Cooper Maze of Hillsboro; his daughter, Tamara Maze of Flemingsburg; a sister, Verdina Maze Hamm of Flemingsburg; and two grandchildren, Karissa Donathan and Timothy Hardin.

Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Erica Robinson of Hillsboro; three stepsons, John Kissick of Owingsville, Tyler Lee of Salt Lick, and Hunter Dailey of Hillsboro; a niece, Ericka Grimes of Morehead; two nephews, Chris Hamm and Chad Hamm, both of Flemingsburg; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Tim began his working career housing tobacco and putting up hay for farmers in the neighborhood. He later worked at a variety of auto body shops, including Eldridge Brothers Chrysler, Jerry Flannery Body Shop, Danny Kearns Body Shop, Paul Miller Ford, and Larry Fannin Chevrolet. With years of experience in the field, Tim went on to teach auto body repair at Fleming County High School and collision repair at Maysville Community College. He eventually concluded his auto body career at Eddie Watson’s Body Shop. Tim held an associate degree in collision repair.

He enjoyed collecting model cars, attending car shows, and watching television. Most of all, Tim cherished the time he spent with his family. He will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Chris Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Logan, Eric Kearns, Chad Hamm, Jordan Skaggs, Seth Ramey, and John Kissick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Lee, Eddie Watson, Leonard Burke, Hunter Dailey, and Willy Hardin.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
