Born August 3, 1972, in Fayette County, Kentucky, he is the son of Audrey Mabry Holbrook of Morehead and the late Ernest Holbrook.

Tim is survived by his loving husband Tony Netherly of Morehead along with his two children Kendra Jade (Jayse) Holbrook of Morehead and Timothy Grant Holbrook of Destin, FL. His siblings:  Glenna Mae Parker of Rush, Pauline Young of Morehead, Ernie Holbrook of Olive Hill, Kathy Holbrook of Lexington, Brenda (Joe) Planck of Morehead, David (Becky) Holbrook of Olive Hill, J. One sister, Linda Burchett, of Grayson, Kentucky, preceded him in death.

Tim, a graduate of West Carter High School, earned two degrees from Morehead State University.  In 1994, he received a bachelor's degree with honors in studio art and in 2001, a Master of Arts degree in studio art. During this time, he was named the University's Outstanding Freshman Art Student, Outstanding Senior Art Student, and Outstanding Undergraduate Student.

Tim, chief photographer and adjunct instructor in the Department of Art and Design, began his career in the Office of Communications at Morehead State University in 1995. During the 28 years of service at MSU, he worked also as a freelance photographer and a sports stringer for the Morehead News, the head photographer at All Seasons for 19 years, and campground host at U.S. Forest Service at Cave Run Lake for the last five summers.  Through the years, his photography was published in state and national magazines and exhibited across the Commonwealth.  He was the recipient of many honors including an Award of Excellence from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education-Kentucky for his work on the publication "MSU Today."

In addition to being an avid photographer, Tim was passionate about spending time with family, friends, his dogs, and being "Poppy" to his grand puppies. He enjoyed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, cooking and baking, being outdoors and camping at Cave Run Lake and Navarre Beach, drinking mineral water, decorating his nutcracker Christmas tree, and telling dad jokes while wearing his favorite Harley-Davidson shirts.
