Obituary

Tilmon Jennings, age 74, of Hwy 711, West Liberty, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the home of his daughter in Morehead. He was born November 28, 1940, in Rowan County, a son of the late Arvil and Ina Thornsberry Jennings. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Jennings. Tilmon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Kidd Jennings, whom he wed April 19, 1963; one daughter, Kimberly Shawn Jennings Harris, and one son, Billy Wayne Jennings, both of Morehead; one brother, Wilburn Jennings and wife Jo, and one sister, Frances Catron and husband Chester, all of Morehead; a sister-in-law, Christine Jennings of Flemingsburg; and a sister-in-law Dorene Kidd Wheeler and husband Wayne of Xenia, Ohio, as well as extended family members and friends. Tilmon was a Christian, a well-respected businessman, and devoted family member. He was a lifelong farmer and owned and operated Jennings Electric for nearly forty years. A residential and commercial contractor, he worked as an electrician on many properties in the area. He especially enjoyed 'playing in dirt' with his tractor, finding unusual rocks to add to his collection, and hanging out with friends at Jerry's, McDonalds, and BP. Tilmon was a longtime member and deacon at the Oak Hill Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Oak Hill Church of God with Brother Gary Madden and Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Kidd Cemetery in Blairs Mill. Pallbearers: Chris Kidd, Glendon Harris, Tony Kidd, Gale Thornsberry, Bryant Barker, Troy Wayne Howard, and Shannon Catron. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
