Thurman Trent, age 78, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born November 7, 1934, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Phillip and Ethel Matthews Trent. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Emil, Cebert, Dennis, and Emerson Trent, and one sister, Victoria Davis. Thurman is survived by one brother, Curtis Trent and wife Lou of Morehead, Kentucky; three sisters, Elnora McDaniel of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Faye Stover of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jean Noe and husband Bert of Harlan, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Thurman was a pallet maker at J.C. Wells for ten years and in his younger years enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Brother Lonnie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Cemetery on Trent Ridge. Pallbearers will be Kevin Trent, Jamie Trent, Ray Baldridge, Bobby Frederick, Roger Trent, Dakota Frederick, Dennis Trent, and Gary Trent. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
