Thomas Howard 'Tommie' Erwin, age 74, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born April 16, 1935, in Carter County, Kentucky, son of the late Earnest Erwin and Minnie Jackson Erwin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters and one daughter, Martha Ann Erwin. Survivors include one son, Stanley Erwin of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters, Melissa Anderson of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Paula Skaggs of Morehead, Kentucky; and one sister, Helen Seagraves of Richmond, Kentucky. Also surviving are two grandsons and three granddaughters, William, Stanley, Sarah, Jennifer, and Rebekah; one great grandson, Zander; and several nieces and nephews. Tommie was a former firefighter with the Olive Hill Volunteer Fire Department and a former employee of Deharts Pharmacy and C & O Railroad. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Toby Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
