Thomas Venton (Tom) McClain, age 63, of Leadbetter Hill, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Born May 9, 1951, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Luther and Alice Fogleman McClain. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Emogene McClain and Anna Stamper. One daughter, Angelie McClain Kline, passed away in 2006. Tom is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Laine (Liz) Mosley McClain; two sons, Sean McClain and Thomas (Luke) McClain, both of Morehead; two daughters, Tonya McClain and Racheal Burton and Adam Burton, all of Morehead; and six grandchildren, Trish, Alex, Kayla, Stephen, McKenzie, and T. J. Other survivors include seven sisters, Lavena Scott and Faye Skeens, both of Clearfield, Louise Fraley and Vern, Wanda Carter and Harlan (P.Joe), Katie May and Gardner, Esther McClain, and Emily (Nina) Thomas and William, all of Morehead; four brothers, David (Bud) McClain and Carolyn, Clarence (Crickett) McClain, Bobby McClain and Tina, and Paul McClain and Sue, all of Morehead; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Tom was a former general construction worker. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Kenny Gevedon officiating. Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery in Fleming County. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
