Thomas 'J. T.' Carver, age 84, of Bethel Ridge Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 15, 1928, at Smokey Valley in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Luther and Bertha Erwin Carver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Wayne Carver and Arthur Blaine Carver. J. T. is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah Jane Oakley Carver, whom he married November 23, 1950; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jay and Shirley Carver of Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Stephanie Carver Moore and husband William, Melissa Carver, and Thomas Jay Carver; and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Helen Webb of Mansfield, Ohio; Dwayne Littleton and husband Larry of Bellville, Ohio; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Mr. Carver was a retired electrician from Empire-Detroit Steel in Mansfield, Ohio. He enjoyed woodworking, farming, and working with his tractor. He was a member of Old Oakland Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Monroe Burton and Rev. Austin Carter officiating. A special memory reading will be by Linda Carter. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be T. J. Carver, Virgil Stamper, J. B. Carter, Doug Littleton, J. E. McGlone, and Steve Oakley. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Tuesday, September 18, 2012, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, Kentucky
