Thomas Hopkins McKenzie, age 74, of Holly Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born May 17, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Hopkins and Irene Stacy McKenzie. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Hopkins McKenzie; one brother, Norman McKenzie, and two sisters, Sarah Johnson and Edith Fagin. Tom is survived by one daughter, Deanna Smith and husband James of Clermont County, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Carol Ziegler and husband Rich of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Bonnie Rose of Morehead and Barbara Lawhorn of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Charles McKenzie of Morehead; and many grandchildren. Tom was a self-employed truck driver who enjoyed traveling, gambling, and visiting with family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in Masters Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
