Thomas Jeffrey 'Jeff' Shay, age 55, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Clearfield, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Born December 2, 1958, in Rowan County, he is the son of Thomas Sherwood and Shirley Lewis Shay of Clearfield. In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Pritchard Shay; two children, Thomas Michael Shay and Lynn Marie Shay, both of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Jennifer Lynn Crawford of Clearfield; one niece, Tamara Pennington; one great-niece, Aubrey Pennington; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jeff served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a former boiler tech at the University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Siloam Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
