Theresa (Terry) Drogan Caudill, age 105, of University Boulevard, Morehead, KY, wife of the late J. Roger Caudill, passed away December 31, 2024, at her home.

Terry is survived by two sons, Jim Caudill (Candy) of Morehead, KY, and Don Caudill (Jennie) of Orlando, FL, one granddaughter, Jaime Leigh Caudill Wientjes (Michael); great grandson, Boden Wientjes; step grandchildren, Ann Spears (Jamie) and Steve Trivette; step great-grandchildren, Clay Spears (Alyssa) and Shelby Carter; and step great-great grandson, Everett James Spears.

Terry was born December 2, 1919, in Shenandoah, PA, to Michael and Anna Rowinsky Drogan.  At age six following the death of her mother, Terry moved with her sister and family to Frackville, PA, and later to Linden, NJ.  In addition to her parents, Terry was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Baker, and three brothers, John, Tom, and Wallace Drogan. Terry is survived by five nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews in the Northeast.

Terry graduated as class valedictorian in 1938, attended Dale Carnegie courses in New York (taught by Dale Carnegie himself) and graduated from Drake Business College.  She worked at the Prudential Insurance home office in Newark, NJ, for a short time and while there volunteered with the USO before joining the U.S. Navy in 1943.  She trained at Hunter College in New York and Oklahoma State at Stillwater, then was stationed at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, in the Communications Division.

In 1945, she met her future husband, Lt. J. Roger Caudill, who was assigned to the Naval operating base in charge of the demobilization office in the same building.  Several months later, they announced their engagement to their families and, after both were discharged at the same time, were married on February 10, 1946, in the Methodist Church in Linden, NJ, Terry's hometown.  The couple moved to Morehead where Roger was born and raised and both became involved in community and statewide organizations.    Roger was a banker at the Peoples Bank of Morehead.  Terry attended classes at MSU and UK and later became Vice President of the former Peoples Bank of Morehead.   Following Roger's death on January 21, 1972, Terry continued the legacy of volunteering for worthwhile causes.

She served on numerous boards at the local and state levels including Fellow of the Lexington Arts Board; Lexington Ballet Board of Directors, charter member; Lexington Philharmonic Arts Board; KET Advisory Board; KY State Arts Council; Consumer Advisory Board in Frankfort; Morehead-Rowan County Arts Council Board; Morehead State University Academy of the Arts Advisory Board;  Rowan County Chapter of American Cancer Society treasurer; League of Voters, charter member, late 40's; Rowan County Historical Society, charter member; Morehead Chamber of Commerce; Blue Grass Magazine Editorial Board; Chi Omega Sorority, Epsilon Theta Chapter; Habitat for Humanity for Humanity Board, Morehead Woman's Club, member since 1947; St. Claire Foundation Board Fund-Raising Committee,1960; UK Medical Student Admission Board; U.K. Hospital Council of Supervisory Board of Trustees; Good Samaritan Hospital Board.

A lifelong, enthusiastic learner, Terry had many interests including foreign languages, history, music, the arts, reading, and current events.  She also greatly enjoyed meeting people, entertaining family and friends, staying abreast of clothing styles and interior design trends; and being a sports enthusiast, especially golf.  Her inspiration will be sorely missed by those who knew her.
