Thelma Kidd Young, age 94, of Canton, Georgia, born August 22, 1918, in Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Canton Nursing Home. Mrs. Young is survived by one daughter, Jewell D. Young and husband Ray of Canton, Georgia; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Zelma Perkins and Donna Wallace, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Alice Foster Riddle; husbands, Virgil Kidd and John P. 'Jack' Young; one son, Glyn Kidd of Fostoria, Ohio; five infant children; one grandson; Eugene Brooks; one granddaughter, Patricia Brooks; and nine brothers and sisters, Ernest Riddle, Clifford Bowman, Flora Perkins, Ocie Brown, Nora Pierce, Gracie Bowman, Leona Jennings, Irene Tackett and Edith Goodman. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and member of West Ridge Baptist Church in Amherst, Ohio. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery on Christy Creek Road in Morehead. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
