Thelma Rogers Walters, age 88, of Spencer Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Windsor Care Facility in Mt. Sterling. She was born August 31, 1921, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Andrew Rogers and Hannah Ann Baxter Rogers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Walters; one daughter, Sharon Johnson; three sons, Donald, Curtis, and Paul Jr. Walters; one grandson, Kevin Walters; and one great grandson, Kyle Walters. Mrs.Walters is survived by one daughter, Brenda Goodpaster of Mt. Sterling; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Todd Hedges, Paula Reddix, Patsy Lynn Nguyen, Cheryl Markland, Donna Price, Becky Walters, Donald Walters, Jr., and LaPaula Lyons; 15 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Walters was a homemaker and member of Hope First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Christian Assembly of God with Sherl Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Slate Cemetery in Owingsville, Kentucky. Pallbearers: Eric Jones, Chris Reddix, Todd Hedges, Johnny Markland, Curtis-Dinh Nguyen, and Quang Nguyen. Honorary pallbearers: B. J. Johnson, Tommy Barker, Jackie Rogers, Danny Whitaker, Clarence Spencer, Jr., Kenny Jones, Jerry Smallwood, and Charlie Puckett. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Christian Assembly of God, 1834 Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling.
