Thelma Workman Culbert, age 77, of Whispering Pines, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Thelma was born August 5, 1934, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Harlan D. and Geneva Phillips Workman. Her only child, Paul Edward Davis, preceded her in death on November 6, 1988. Thelma is survived by several cousins, including special cousins, Denzil Workman and Vicki Workman; two aunts, Jewell Ferguson and Ruth Workman; a special friend whom she considered her son, Joe Riggsby and his daughter, Melodi Riggsby Cornett and husband Tim; and his granddaughters, Kristen Riggsbyand Alysa Cornett. Thelma owned and operated a boarding home for more than forty years and considered the residents her family. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Max Molihan officiating. Entombment will follow in her family mausoleum in Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers: Joe Riggsby, Nelson Gilliam, Paul Bellamy, Garnet -Ace- Hall, Gary Workman, and Denzil Workman. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
