Tennis Lee Brown, age 84, of Kinder Branch, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born April 30, 1930, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Harry and Zella Stone Brown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Brown Conn, and two brothers, Vernon Brown and Ernest Brown. His wife, Betty Lou Dowdy Brown, whom he married May 9, 1958, preceded him in death on February 17, 2014. Tennis is survived by three sons, Tim Brown and Scott (Crystal) Brown of Morehead and Jeff (Jackie) Brown of Vanceburg ; a daughter Sherry (Terry) Caudill of Cold Water, MI; three grandsons, Waylon Brown, T. J. Caudill, and Ethan Brown; one granddaughter, Miranda Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Betty Grace 'Gracie' Brown. Other survivors include two sisters, Inez Springer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Edith Giles of Louisville, and several nieces and nephews. Tennis was a former construction worker, farmer, and logger. He had been a Christian for years and attended Holly Fork Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family and attending church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Porter, Bro. Monroe Craig, and Bro. John Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery. His grandchildren and nephews, Linn, Keith, and Randy Brown, will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the church of your choice in memory of Tennis. Visitation: Tuesday, January 20, 2015, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 1 p.m. Interment: Adams-Plank Cemetery
