Obituary

Teddy Burl 'Ted' Eldridge, age 73, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 31, 1943, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Simon Eldridge, Sr. and Goldie Hicks Eldridge. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Turner, and two brothers, Raymond Rogers Eldridge and Simon Eldridge, Jr. Ted is survived by his wife, Helen Turner Eldridge; one son, Claude (Debbie) Henson of Vevay, Indiana; five daughters, Brenda (Greg) Quillen of Lebanon, Ohio, Malinda (Jeffery) Truesdell of Morehead, Beverly (Brian) Wooley of Germantown, Penny Bond of Morehead, and Judy (Brian) Bailey of Mt. Sterling; 18 grandchildren, Rebecca Turner, Sara (Chad) McFarland, Robert Turner, Leeann (Ricky) Puckett, Tiffany Turner, Amy (Ben) Hamm, Zachary Turner, Scottie (Becky) Foster, Amy Foster, Erica Coffman, Samantha White, Brittany Jones, Bethany Jones, Levi Wooley, Shelby (Ryan) Hill, Rayanne (Trevor) Clark, Grant Bailey, and Claire Bailey; and 21 great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Joe (Betty) Eldridge; one sister, Audra (Marvin) Black, all of Morehead; several nieces and nephews, extended family members and many friends. Ted worked as a master electrician, HVAC technician and was a self-made entrepreneur. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel, a former Morehead City Council member, and a member of the Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed working, traveling, fishing with Marcus Turner and spending time with his family and friends. Ted was a man of great character and was a friend to many. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. A private burial will take place in Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, December 16, 2016, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Northcutt & Son Funeral: Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey Road
