Tab Allen Howard, 66, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2023.

Born September 17, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of James Kenneth Howard of Tucson, AZ and Jean Donahue of Morehead, KY.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol Howard; sons, Brad and John Howard; daughter-in-law Grace Brier; brothers, Robert Howard and Ray Howard; sister Carla Hinz; aunts Debbie Mabry and Geraline Porter; uncle, Joe White; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Lowell Spaulding; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Alice and Jimmy Spaulding, as well as many more cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Reba and Orville White, Shirley Howard and his beloved uncle, Wendill White.

Tab worked for 30 years as a retail store manager in the community, during which time he touched countless lives. He was devoted to his wife and boys, loved coaching them in sports and cheering the loudest from the stands. Additionally, during his teenage years in Morehead, Tab was an avid music enthusiast and of his favorite collections were 70s bands to include Creedence Clearwater to which he knew every verse. He also loved fishing, rebuilding older cars and enjoying special times and lots of laughter with his family and friends on Mills Branch. He will be especially missed for his unique sense of humor, mischievous twinkle in his eye and humble desire to always put himself last to ensure those around him knew they were taken care of no matter his silent sacrifice...it was his Joy.

As per his wishes, Tab requested no service. He will be cremated with his ashes to be spread along the New River privately at a later date.
