Sylvon 'Pete' Wallace, age 81, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, after an extended illness. He was born November 23, 1931, in Morehead, Kentucky, the son of the late Elick Henry and Sarah Margaret Hicks Wallace. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Stephanie Wallace and Cynthia Burke, and nine brothers and sisters, Chalmer Wallace, Melvin Wallace, William Wallace, Lloyd Wallace, Howard Wallace, Junior Wallace, Bessie Webb, Alberta Smith, and Betty Jean Wallace. Sylvon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Fisher Wallace, whom he married October 17, 1953; his children, Susan and Steve McKinney, Jeff and Lisa Wallace, Sandra and Dennis Muse, Greg Wallace, and Michelle Hunt, all of Morehead, Kentucky; son-in-law, Leonard Burke of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Chester and Emma Wallace of Irvine, Kentucky, and Homer and Linda Wallace of Farmers, Kentucky; two sisters, Barbara and Charles Black of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Margaret and Tommy Mynhier of Morehead, Kentucky; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. Pete was a self-employed logger. He had many loyal fire wood customers who could always count on 'Pete' to bring good sound fire wood. Pete enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, horse shoes, and playing bingo. He loved his family and was never shy to tell them so. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. G. Pratt. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dennis Muse, Greg Wallace, Jeff Wallace, Leonard Burke, Steve McKinney, and Derek Wallace.
