Sylvia Ann Perkins, age 78, peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Life Care Center of Morehead, which had been her home since April 2024.

Sylvia was born October 26, 1946, in Morgan County, and was the daughter of the late Calvin LaFayette Perkins and Jean McClure Perkins.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Perkins.

Sylvia moved to Louisville in 1947 and graduated in 1965 from Butler High School in Shively, Kentucky. A few years later, Sylvia went to work for Hazelwood Center in Louisville assisting residents with disabilities, and retired after 25 years of service. Upon her retirement, she moved to Menifee County in 1995 to take care of her parents. After her parents passing, she relocated to Morehead in 2012 where she thoroughly enjoyed her new home and entertaining the neighborhood children. She was a member of Farmers Christian Church.

Sylvia is survived by a brother, JC Perkins of Boerne, Texas; an aunt, Maryann McClain; two sisters-in-law, Kelly Perkins and Jolene Perkins; and several nephews and nieces in Texas, as well as many other extended family members.

At her request, there will be no visitation or services held.
