Obituary

Sylvia Jean Oliver Stigall, age 58, of CCC Trail, Morehead, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born May 1, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vernal Van Oliver and Vena Mae Thornsberry Oliver Trent. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Oliver and Marsha Oliver. Sylvia is survived by her husband of 34 years, Elmo Stigall, Jr., whom she married December 23, 1981; two sons, Jonathan Russell Stigall and Christopher Joshua Stigall and wife Miranda, all of Morehead; two grandchildren, Alexis Sierra Dawn Stigall and Connor Ray Knight; and one special boy she babysat since he was two months old, Dalton Ray Jent. Other survivors include one brother, Gary Oliver of Olive Hill; one sister, Judy Fraley of Sandy Hook; two sisters-in-law, Brenda and Tommy Hreha of Stanford and Rhonda and Mike Crouch of Morehead; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; extended family and friends. Sylvia was a homemaker and former employee of Cowden Manufacturing. She loved crocheting, flowers, birdwatching, yard sales, cooking, and especially her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Recia Trent Cemetery on the CCC Trail, Morehead.
