Sylvia -Kitty- Hamm Thomas, age 73, of Knipp Hollow Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at her daughter-s residence. Born August 3, 1937, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Homer and Blanche Horton Hamm. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Thomas; one son, Christopher Thomas; two brothers, James (Buster) Hamm and Larry Ray Hamm; and a great grandchild, Ryan Joe Brown. She is survived by one daughter, Valerie Plank and her husband Jerry of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Kristal Carey, Jamie Pennington, Kayla Carter and Aaron Plank, all of Morehead, Kentucky; and 11 great grandchildren, Tyler Fraley, Kyle Fraley, David Pennington, Ethan Pennington, Macie Pennington, Morgan Carey, Madison Carey, Dakota Plank, Jaylynn Plank, Bentley Plank, and Taylor Stevens. Kitty retired from the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was an Environmental Service Supervisor. She enjoyed watching U.K. basketball, NASCAR racing, and reading. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers and Jack Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Mabry Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jamie Pennington, Tyler Fraley, Kyle Fraley, David Pennington, Ethan Pennington, Jimmy Carey, Aaron Plank, and Cody Hamm. Honorary Pallbearers: Macie Pennington, Jaylynn Plank, Bentley Plank, Dakota Plank, Morgan Carey, Madison Carey, and Taylor Stevens.
