Sudie Mae Cooper, age 86, of Grassy Lick, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her home. Born April 10, 1928, in Smile, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert Carey Cooper and Bessie Lee Morehouse Cooper. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia Marie Cooper, who passed away December 2, 2007, and Virginia Lucille 'Bunny' Cooper, who passed away October 5, 2013. Sudie is survived by one brother, Harvey H. Cooper and his wife Loretta of Muncie, Indiana; two nephews, Larry Cooper of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jerry Cooper of Firestone, Colorado; one niece, Connie Mochal of Muncie, Indiana; five great nephews; two great nieces; two step great nieces; and numerous cousins. Sudie was a homemaker and former housekeeper for the Bruce Motel. She was a lifelong member of the Johnson First Church of God and a devout Christian. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial with Pastor Ben Furman and Brother Mark Poston officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Otis Morehouse, Justin Morehouse, Tyler Brown, Gabe Brown, David Nutter, and Jerry Scruggs.
