Obituary

Steven Ray Bridenthal, 63, of South Mills Branch, Clearfield, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born October 8, 1954, in La Porte, Indiana, he was the son of Oliver A. and Crystal Bricker Bridenthal. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ellen K. Glover. It is with great sadness and heartbreak the wife and family say goodbye to a wonderful and loving husband, stepfather, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 17 years, Cheryl Alfrey Bridenthal; stepson, Aaron Alfrey; and precious grandson, Landon Wade Alfrey, whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind three sisters: Nancy (John) Barnett of Covina, CA, Carol (Brian) Shellenbarger of Muncie, IN, and Linda (Jerry) Hevner of Upland, IN, two brothers-in-law: Robert (Becki) Alfrey and James Alfrey; and his pastor and brother, Kenneth Binion. Steve was a very giving man and always willing to help anyone in need. He took pride in his work and could fix just about anything. He was forced into early retirement due to a disabling condition that he bravely fought for the last 25 years. Computers and robotics were his passion. He never let his illness get him down and often said it was a blessing because he may not have met his wife Cheryl. Elder Steve Bridenthal was a board member, long-standing elder, minister, and director of missions of the Morehead First Apostolic Church. He also installed, maintained, and operated the media system as well as the overall maintenance of the church. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family, and by all the lives he touched with his many acts of kindness. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Morehead First Apostolic Church with Pastor Kenneth Binion officiating. Burial will follow at the C & S Family Cemetery, South Mills Branch, Clearfield. Pallbearers: Kevin Boggs, Aaron Alfrey, Jesse Alfrey, Caleb Goss, Lee Binion, and Kenan Binion. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, and after 11 a.m. Sunday at Morehead First Apostolic Church, 2750 U.S. Hwy 60 West, Morehead, KY 40351.
