Stanley S. Branham, age 91, of Elaine Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, at his residence. He was born August 30, 1918, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, son of the late Shirley and George Anna Branham. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ben, John, and Elmer Branham, as well as four infant brothers; and five sisters, Clara Curduff, Ruby Johnson, Dell Cook, Edith Curtis, and Bessie Moore. Stanley is survived by his wife, Roberta Hunt Branham of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Tracey L. Branham of Louisville, Kentucky; three stepdaughters, Martha (Curtis) Parks and Cathi (Robert) Utterback, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Patricia Davis of Owingsville, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Mr. Branham retired from Amtrak Union Station. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Roy Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in the Branham Cemetery in Mt. Sterling with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 22. Pallbearers will be Bruce Woolford, Richard Myers, Tom Parker, Clifford Reid, William Reid, and Fred Hammonds. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead.
