Sonia Sanchez Reyna

Sonia Sanchez Reyna, age 77, of Wellington, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born July 9, 1949, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Carlos Sanchez and Joaquina DeJesus Sanchez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ismael Rivera.

Sonia is survived by four daughters, Doris Rivera of Chicago, Illinois, Awilda Jones of Maricopa, Arizona, Elena Mencos of Wellington, Kentucky, and Sonia Reyna of Chicago, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She worked as a housekeeper and enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and playing dominoes. Above all, Sonia treasured the time she spent with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
