Shirley Sue Trent Gardner, 62, of Gardner Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after a battle with Covid.

Born August 16, 1959, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Trent and Darlene Dillon Trent.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Jean Trent Howard on May 9, 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gardner; one daughter, Amy Holbrook and husband Chris; one brother, Ricky Trent and wife Robin, all of Morehead; four grandchildren, Allyson Day, Raeleigh-Anne Day, Caitlyn Holbrook, and Alyssa Holbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

Susie was a retired medical assistant and had worked for Morehead Clinic and Morehead Primary Care. She was a member of Hayes Crossing Community Church and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered with loved and missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Michael H. Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Chris Holbrook, Donald Bowman, Toby Gardner, Gary Trent, Steve Trent, and DeWayne Trent.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
