Obituary

Shirley Poe Holland, age 66, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at her residence. Born December 26, 1943, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late, Kellie and Carrie Bailey Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James -J. D.- Poe, and one brother, Cread Holland. She is survived by two sons, James Kellie (Ellen) Poe and Michael (Rhonda) Poe; one brother, Clinton (Rose) Holland; one sister-in-law, Betty Holland, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and a special cousin, Printha Poe of Salyersville, Kentucky. Shirley retired from Jockey International in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was a member of the Freedom Church of God and the Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Sterling Chapter 464. Funeral services will be conducted 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the Freedom Church of God with Millard Anderson and William -Hoss- Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Holland, Eddy Williams, Roger Spencer, Van Hurst, Tommy Prater, and Wally Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelsey Holland, Andrew Holland, Aaron Holland, Aiden Holland, and Asher Holland. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010, at the Freedom Church of God, 3600 Levee Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction on Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Friday, August 20, 2010, 5 p.m. at Freedom Church of God Funeral: Saturday, August 21, 2010, 9:30 a.m. Freedom Church of God Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky
