Obituary

Shirley June Crawford Brown Walton, age 66, of Jones Ridge, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born May 11, 1942, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Opal Crose Crawford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Crawford Clevenger, and three brothers, Fred, Donald and Luther Crawford. Her second husband, Elwood Walton, preceded her in death on March 17, 2007. Mrs. Walton is survived by four sons, Dewayne A. Brown, James E. Brown, Timothy L. Brown, all of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Donald L. Brown of LaGrange, Kentucky; three daughters, Tammy J. Jennings and husband David of Clearfield, Kentucky, Anna M. Plummer and husband Chris of Maysville, Kentucky, and Linda G. Parker of Morehead, Kentucky. Her first husband and father of her children, Carl E. Brown of Clearfield, Kentucky, also survives. Additional survivors include one sister, Christine Crawford Jennings and husband Richard of Clearfield, Kentucky; four stepchildren, Melissa King of Hillsboro, Kentucky, Michael Walton and Joey Walton of Columbus, Ohio, and Bobby Walton of Morehead, Kentucky; 27 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 7 step grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Mrs. Walton was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, her pets, and computer games. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jay Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in McClain Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Wednesday, August 6, 2008, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment: McClain Cemetery
