Sherwood -Woody- Kissinger, age 75, a resident of the Life Care Center of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born February 13, 1935, in Morehead, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Everett and Anna Ethel Lewis Kissinger. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Kissinger, and a brother, Elwood Kissinger. He is survived by four children, Sharon Kissinger Morrison and husband George of Morehead, Kentucky; Vicky E. Kissinger Ramirez of Florida; Sherwood Scott Kissinger of Florida; and Brian K. Kissinger of Illinois; one brother, Ewing Kissinger of Morehead, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Woody served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59, was a good story and joke teller and nearly always used the quotation, -I love you.- The family extends a thank you to Life Care and the other caring healthcare professionals of Morehead and Rowan County. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Prince Cemetery in Elliottville, Kentucky, with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
