Shelvia Barker Williams, age 51, of Sugar Maple Lane, West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born July 6, 1959, in West Liberty, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Betty Adkins Barker of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and the late Tennyson Barker. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Julie Williams of Morehead, Kentucky; four sons, Larry Williams, Barry Williams, Jeremy Williams, and Jacob Williams, all of West Liberty, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Aiden and Ashton Johnson. Other survivors include five sisters, Phyllis Adkins, Reatha Thornsberry, Peachie Barker, Donn Sloas, and Jeannie Winkleman, all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; four brothers, Darrell Barker, John Barker, Jerry Barker, and Harold Barker, all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Shelvia was a homemaker and a Christian. She enjoyed working in her flowers, loved all children, and cherished her own children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Keith Lyons officiating. Burial will be in the Barker Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky. Pallbearers: Austin Legg, Kevin Sloas, Eric Thornsberry, Richard Adkins, Mark Adkins, Shannon Stevens, Brett Hutchinson Williams, and Dalen Winkleman. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
