Shelby Jean Mabry Jones, 79, of US 60 West, Morehead, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Owingsville. Born November 22, 1936, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Zora Wagoner Mabry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Mabry and Delmar Mabry. Shelby is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald R. Jones; one daughter, Donna Thomas; and one son, Ed Jones and his wife Mari, all of Morehead. Two beloved grandchildren also survive, Carly Thomas and Jarred Jones. Shelby operated Mama Shelby's Day Care for 40 years and had the privilege of serving the second generation of several families. She was a longtime member of the First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Johnny Hatfield and Brother Mike Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brad Galbreath, Jim Tom Galbreath, Josh Day, Sonny Jones, Denton Blair, and Leon Buchanan.
