Shelby Litton, age 72, of Windstar Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at her home. She was born April 29, 1938, in Elliott County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ora Lee and Madge Opal Mays Carter. Shelby is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Art Litton, whom she wed on September 27, 1958; one son, Kevin Litton and wife Lisa of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Anita Hendricksen and husband Mark of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Halle Alisabeth Litton, Carter Fraser Hendricksen and Lindsi Alivia Litton. She is also survived by one sister, Regena Stone and husband Bernard of Morehead, Kentucky; two nieces, Angie White and Sheila Harmon; and dedicated caregivers, Leslie Martin, Teresa McRoberts, and Heidi Goldy. Following her graduation from Sandy Hook High School, Shelby began a secretarial career with Lee Clay Products Company in Clearfield, where Regena was also employed. Shelby later worked for Farm Bureau Insurance and Rowan Water, Inc. Shelby enjoyed flower gardening, camping, and traveling. Her greatest joy, however, was derived from her family, especially spending time with the grandchildren. Shelby was a longtime member of the First Church of God, where she sang in the choir for many years. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Ushers of the church will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideons International or Morehead First Church of God Choir, 576 Sunset Lane, Morehead, KY 40351 Visitation: Monday, August 23, 2010, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
