(Allen) Adkins

Shelby Jean Allen Adkins, age 81, of Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born May 28, 1943, in Pike County, and was the daughter of the late Walter Allen and Wanda King Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Carol Adkins; a son-in-law, Terry Dotson; and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Adkins.
Shelby is survived by her husband of 63 years, Willis Palmer Adkins, whom she married November 4, 1961; one son, Willis Gene Adkins of Cadiz, Kentucky; one daughter, Donna Dotson of Flemingsburg; one granddaughter, Shonna Dotson (Kyle) Gray; one great grandson, Owen Gray; and other extended family and friends.
She was a homemaker and a former bus driver for the Floyd County Board of Education. Shelby was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and attending church. Shelby will be greatly missed and always remembered with appreciation and love.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Davidson Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ivel, Kentucky.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
