Sharon Lee Van Kirk Peavy, 69, of Ed Hensley Road, Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born July 31, 1946, in San Jose, California, a daughter of LeRoy and Helen Louise Tate Van Kirk. Sharon is survived by her husband, Lewis L. Peavy; one son, Aaron Clark (Kaylee) Peavy of Prophetstown, Illinois; one daughter, Vanessa Louise Peavy (Charles 'Chuck') Grossart of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; one brother, Craig Scott Van Kirk of Fresno, California; and one sister, Deborah Sue (Joseph) Krezni of Eureka, California. During their 50 years of marriage, Shari and Lew resided in a number of states, beginning their careers in California, where both attended college. Shari always considered herself a 'salesman,' and was very success in all her endeavors. Following Lew's retirement, they moved from Massachusetts to Kentucky in 2009, where Shari continued her passion for genealogy. She also enjoyed crafting, flower gardening and most of all, her family. A memorial service will be held in California.
