Shannon Clay Hensley, age 52, of Bridge Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born October 27, 1958, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hensley, who passed away September 8, 1968, and Gladys Fern Sloan Hensley, who passed away, March 31, 2010. Shannon is survived by one sister, Jackie Lynn Hensley of Concord, Massachusetts, and two nieces, Jaclyn Renee Hensley and Ashley Marie Werner. Shannon served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea and was trained as a sharpshooter and hand grenade expert. He was a former electrician and an ordained minister. Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at McDaniel-Fraley-Adkins Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Pennington officiating. Pallbearers will be Jackie Dillon, Dean Dillon, Jimmy Dillon, Chris Dillon, Danny Dillon and Steven Bouchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY.
